System's Requirements
EzPlanet One is one of the most complete Linux distributions and it is available for download on four CD ISO images. Installation requires from 620 MB up to 7 GB disk space. The Minimum processor requirement is Intel Pentium(tm), with 64 MB RAM. Please see the release notes for more details on hardware requirements.
If installed in a dual boot system where one of the operating systems is Windows, make sure to install Windows in the first disk partition. Microsoft(tm) operating systems are unable to boot from partitions other than the first.
Downloading
Download bandwidth is limited, please consider getting the distribution on DVD or CD media here. This would also support our work and allow us to continue the improvement of our service. As of the 5th February 2005 the CD ISO images are no longer available for HTTP download. Please join the torrent (or get Azureus Java based client) to download using a peer to peer network. EzPlanet One 2.0 torrent ISO images are available at:
http://ftp.ezplanetone.com/pub/2.0/i386/iso
On 15th April 2005 we have released a new ISO CD set, Service Build 2, named
EzPlanetOne-Madesimo-SB2-i386-discn.iso (where n is the CD number from 1 to 4).
This time a torrent file includes a directory containing the iso CD images and the md5 checksum . This latest release is still EzPlanet One Madesimo 2.0 however including all the updates and improvements released to date. There are two torrent files, one for the i386 binary installation CDs and one for the sources.
| EzPlanet One 2.0 (Madesimo) SB2 i386 CD set | EzPlanetOne-Madesimo-SB2-i386-CD.iso.torrent | |
| EzPlanet One 2.0 (Madesimo) SB2 sources | EzPlanetOne-Madesimo-SB2-src-CD.iso.torrent |
After having reached 100% download using the torrent, please leave it running to share your files with others.
No need to get SB2 if you have already started downloading EzPlanetOne-Madesimo-SP1-i386. Users with the original release will obtain the same packages in SP2 running EzPlanet One Network updater, or at root prompt:
#yum update
After having done your downloads, place all your ISO images and the md5sum dataset in the same directory and check their integrity with:
md5sum --check EzPlanetOne-Madesimo-SB2-i386.md5sum
Burning the ISO images
If you are already running a Linux operating system, here is a sample command line to burn your CD images using cdrecord:
#cdrecord -v speed=4 dev=[cd recorder device] -dao -data EzPlanetOne-Madesimo-SB2-i386-disc1.iso
Linux (K3B) or Windows (Nero) CD burning tools can also be used.
